Surgical Armboards
In modern operative care, precise, customizable arm positioning is essential for patient safety, surgeon access, and optimal imaging. SchureMed’s surgical armboards are engineered to deliver durable, radiolucent, and ergonomically superior support across a breadth of surgical specialties. Whether for long cases, imaging-dependent procedures, or high-volume operating room efficiency, each armboard model is designed to preserve stability, prevent pressure injury, and integrate seamlessly with standard OR tables and side rails.
Standard Armboard
The Standard Armboard offers reliable baseline performance with key features optimized for versatility. It measures approximately 6″ × 26.5″ (15 cm × 67 cm), fitting all standard U.S. OR table side rails, and is constructed to be lightweight, extremely durable, and radiolucent. The unit swings through a full 180° range of motion: simply pull the finger-trigger at the distal end, shift to the desired angle, and release to lock. To remove, the same trigger allows for quick disengagement. Pads are sold separately: options include 2″ (5 cm) Deluxe or Softcare pads with conductive vinyl covers, attaching via adhesive-backed hook & loop fasteners.
Adjustable Height Armboard
For procedures requiring table tops that vary in height (for instance, those with X-ray compatibility or imaging overlays), the Adjustable Height Armboard allows vertical adjustment so the armboard remains level with the OR table surface, with or without X-ray tops. It retains the same lightweight, durable, radiolucent materials as the standard model, uses the finger-trigger mechanism for angular positioning, and mounts on standard side rails. Pad options again include the 2″ Deluxe or Softcare types.
Extra Wide Adjustable Height Armboard
When greater lateral surface area is necessary (team access, larger forearms, patient variances), the Extra Wide Adjustable Height Armboard offers enhanced width, measuring about 11″ × 26.5″ (28 cm × 67 cm). It includes all the adjustable-height features of the standard adjustable model, plus this extra width. Mounting, swing-to-position capability, radiolucency, and material quality match the highest standards of OR accessories.
Radiolucent Armboard
Imaging-intensive operations, CT, fluoroscopy, and X-ray, often require unobstructed views. The Radiolucent Armboard is designed to slide under the patient’s shoulder or beneath the table pad to support the arm without interfering with imaging. It is made of phenolic materials and a radiolucent structure; the dimension is about 6″ W × 30-36″ L (≈15 cm × 91 cm) depending on the variant. As with other models, the conductive vinyl-covered foam pad is optional and attaches via hook & loop fastener.
Incline Armboard Pad
To avoid hyperextension of the upper arm and forearm, particularly during prolonged positioning, the Incline Armboard Pad provides a pressure-diffusing slope surface. It is built with T-Foam™, is covered in durable black conductive vinyl, and is configured to fit all 6″ × 26″ armboards (≈15 cm × 66 cm). This tailored support helps reduce stress on joints, nerve pathways, and soft tissue under surgical draping and positioning protocols.
Armboard Wall Rack
Efficient storage and organization are key in operating room logistics. The Armboard Wall Rack (Holder) provides a robust solution to store two standard surgical armboards when not in use, plus a convenient top shelf for clamps or other accessories. It attaches via four screws (with anchors supplied), keeping armboards secure yet readily accessible. Proper rack mounting reduces clutter, limits risk of damage to delicate components, and contributes to faster turnover in the OR.
