Patient Transfer Devices

Patient transfer devices are critical tools in modern clinical and pre-hospital settings, designed to provide safe, efficient, and ergonomic movement of patients between surfaces, including beds, stretchers, ambulances, imaging tables, etc. These devices reduce physical strain on caregivers, lower the risk of injury to patients (especially fragile or mobility-impaired), and help ensure smooth transitions in fast-paced medical environments. At SchureMed, our line of “Schure Slide” transfer devices blends advanced materials, precision engineering, and specialized functional features to meet the most demanding standards in surgical, ambulance, emergency, and hospital usage.

Schure Slide XLT

The Schure Slide XLT is engineered for extra-long transfers. Its extended length permits full body support during transfers when standard sizes are insufficient. Ideal for bariatric patients, long table transfers, or when extra reach is necessary (e.g., across wide imaging equipment or gurneys). Constructed to maintain structural integrity under high load, while still offering low-friction surfaces to minimize shear forces on the patient’s skin. The XLT is especially effective in trauma, bariatric, or diagnostic imaging departments where full reach and consistent glide are required.

Schure Slide, Full Size

This is the standard “full-size” slide, tailored to general patient transfers. The Full Size model offers balanced dimensions to cover torso, hips, and legs while fitting most beds, stretchers, and imaging platforms. It is suitable for typical transfers such as bed-to-stretcher, stretcher-to-table, or bed-to-chair. The design optimizes patient comfort (with smooth edges and ample length/width), while the material selection ensures durability, ease of disinfection, and reliability over repeated use.

Schure Slide XL, Rigid, and Anti-Static

When rigidity and static control are essential, the Schure Slide XL Rigid & Anti-Static is the ideal choice. The rigid structure prevents sagging under heavier loads, ensuring stable support even in compromised postures. The anti-static finish reduces the risk of static buildup, a concern in environments with sensitive electronic equipment (like ORs and imaging suites). This model is suitable in high-tech surgical settings or radiology departments, combining high strength, low friction, and static decay features for optimal performance.

Schure Slide XLA Ambulance

Designed specifically for pre-hospital and emergency medical services, the Schure Slide XLA Ambulance is optimized for ambulance stretcher compatibility, compact storage, and rapid deployment. Its geometry is adapted for the dimensions of ambulance stretchers and gurneys, allowing paramedics to slide patients smoothly without excessive lifting. The materials are rugged and can resist the wear-and-tear of field conditions, such as vibrations, moisture, and frequent cleaning. The XLA model supports safe, fast extrications and transfers under constrained spaces.

Schure Slide, Anti-Static, Rigid

This model merges the anti-static and rigid design features in a more general-purpose format. It is built to provide firm support, minimal flex, and controlled static behavior, making it suitable for any environment where both patient safety and equipment safety are priorities. It offers excellent durability, particularly in hospital wards, diagnostic labs, and trauma units.

Schure Slide FTS, Long

“FTS” stands for Fixed Transfer Support, and the “Long” variant extends length to cover longer spans. The Schure Slide FTS Long is framed to span wide beds or tables, enabling seamless transitions without requiring repositioning of ancillary equipment. Its extended length and continuous low-friction surface reduce frictional forces, aiding in safer lateral transfers and repositioning of patients, especially for those with limited mobility or compromised skin integrity.

Schure Slide FTS, Short

The Schure Slide FTS Short offers the same fixed support benefits in a more compact design. It’s ideal for tight spaces, narrow beds, chairs, or shorter transfer distances, such as from stretcher foot end to bed foot end. Retains the low-friction and stable support surfaces of the long version, with advantages in portability, storage, and quick deployment.

Schure Slide Ergo

Ergonomics is at the heart of the Schure Slide Ergo. Its shape, grip features, handle placements, and weight distribution are engineered to minimize caregiver fatigue and risk of musculoskeletal injury. The Ergo model often includes contoured edges, reinforced gripping zones, and optimized balance so that lifting, sliding, or rotating patients exerts minimal stress on healthcare staff while maintaining maximum safety for the patient.
